Detailed description - Time relay ERV-08M (0.1 s - 100 h), Un: 12-230 V AC/DC

The time relay ERV-08M is a universal delay relay designed to control delayed switching on after applying the supply voltage. It offers a wide time range from 0.1 seconds to 100 hours, a universal 12-230 V AC/DC power supply, easy operation, and DIN rail mounting.

It is suitable for automation applications to control fans, motors, lighting, contactors, and other devices that require a delayed start.

Controls and functions

LED display

• ON (red) - Relay is pulled in

• OUT (green, constantly lit) - Output relay is energized (contact 2-3 connected)

• OUT (green, blinking) - the countdown to switching is running

Time setting

With the time relay, you can set an exact delay using two potentiometers:

1. Potentiometer "t" (0.1 to 10)
   - Fine adjustment in % of the total range
   - 0.1 = 1%, 10 = 100%

2. Potentiometer "TS" - range selection:

   • A = 10 s

   • B = 100 s

   • C = 10 min

   • D = 100 min

   • E = 10 h

   • F = 100 h

The time setting is activated the next time the power is switched on.

Circuit function

1) ON Delay - delayed activation (terminals 2-3, NO)

• When voltage is applied, the countdown of the set time begins

• After the time expires, the relay Out (RLY) is activated - the contact 2-3 (NO → COM) is switched on

2) Off delay via NC contact (terminals 2-1)

• Contact 2-1 (NC) is switched even without power supply

• When the power is turned on, the countdown begins

• After the time expires, the contact 1-2 open

Usage

The ERV-08M time relay is used for applications where a delayed activation is required after an event occurs:

• The fan only turns on after the light is switched on (toilet, bathroom)

• Lighting in the garage or hallway after the door is opened

• Stepwise motor startup

• Delayed switching of contactors

• Sequential switching of multiple circuits

• Delayed device activation

The timing starts as soon as the relay is powered.
