TENSE phase protection relay - adjustable asymmetry 5-50%

The phase protection relay from TENSE (Turkey) is designed to protect three-phase electric motors and other three-phase devices from faults in the power supply network. The device checks the correct phase sequence, phase asymmetry, under- and overvoltage and ensures safe load disconnection when the set limits are exceeded.

Thanks to the wide adjustment range, the relay is suitable for most industrial and commercial applications, especially where precise and stable motor protection is required.

Operating principles

Normal operation

If all phase voltages are within the limits and the phase sequence is correct:

• the relay is triggered,

• The LED OUT lights up.

High voltage fault (H)

• If the phase exceeds the set limit → Err-In-Time starts, H is displayed.

• The relay switches off, OUT goes out.

• If it falls 5 V below the set value, Err OUT starts running, the relay switches on again.

Undervoltage error (L)

• Drop below the set limit → Err In waits, L is displayed.

• The relay switches off.

• If the voltage rises 5 V above the limit → Err OUT waits, the relay pulls in.

Phase asymmetry (Asy)

• If the voltage difference between the phases exceeds the set threshold (5-50%):

  • ASy is displayed after the time Err In, the relay is deactivated.

• If the asymmetry falls below (set threshold - 2%) → wait time Err OUT, the relay switches on.

Phase sequence error (pHs)

• When a phase sequence error occurs, the relay waits for Err In and then displays pHs.

• The relay switches off and remains off until the correct sequence is restored.

• After the phase sequence is corrected, Err OUT appears and the relay switches on.
